Virtual reality could change real estate forever

In 1999 Real Estate first incorporated the internet as a marketing tool. Fast forward to 2017 and we see 90% of buyers using the internet as a primary source for buying homes. It didn't seem like the consumer could have a better buying experience. That is until this year when virtual reality enters the game.

We have already seen virtual reality (or 360) videos being heavily promoted by Facebook, YouTube, and other major platforms as a new immersive way for consumers to experience content. It won't be long for the real estate market to catch up. I believe by 2020, gone will be the days of open houses. No more agents using their precious weekends to set up signs and sit next to the kitchen island with a handful of pamphlets- bored and itching at the opportunity to provide information to anyone willing to listen. It sounds awfully similar to a low level retail employee.

It's time for agents to spend their time on better things. It's time to offer your potential buyers an open house experience so when the time comes to tour the property, they are already interested in making an offer.

If you have tried VR tours before I would love to hear your feed back. Just send an email to Dillon@firstpersonvisuals.com.
