4 Reasons Why All Real Estate Agents Need Video

When was the last time a real estate agent has been able to say "it's a sellers market." I personally can't remember. But as summer approaches in Minnesota we are looking at the real possibility of an inventory shortage. As competition grows I have found that the most powerful tool for obtaining and selling listings is offering video. This year will add an additional element as we see video not only increase inquiries on properties, but increase inquiries for agents as we find new and creative ways to get our names out there.

So without further ado, here is 4 reasons why all real estate agents should be using video.

4) Your Client Wants You To Have Video

Sellers want to know their agent is doing everything they can to market their company. With 70% of internet traffic dominated by video it has quickly become the preferred method of consuming information. 85% of sellers have reported that they would work with an agent who provides video versus an agent who doesn't.

3) Listings With Video Get More Action

It shouldn't surprise you that listings with videos get more inquires- but what IS surprising is that a video will increase your inquiries by 403%. Just let that set in for a second... That's the possibility of 4 times the calls, 4 times the showings, and 4 times the offers. The best part of it all is that you don't have to worry about an open house. You already have that in an easy to watch video format.

2) Video Can Increase Your Google Ranking

Agents will often ask me "If I do video and the house sells, then what good is that video to me." Well the answer to that is- A LOT OF GOOD. It has been shown that using video not only increases traffic to your website (which improves your ranking in Google), but Google actually rewards companies with video by making it 50% easier to rank up. Think about a seller searching Google "real estate agents in (your city)." Where are you showing up in those results?

1) Community Videos Attract Buyers and Sellers Organically

It has been reported that up to 86% of buyers will research videos of a particular community before making a decision. If you take a moment to research yourself- you'll find that there is very little video content available of your community. Buyers prefer to see a short video of the shopping, parks, schools, and other amenities a community provides. Pair that with your branding at the end and you have an extremely valuable tool to attract organic engagements with clients. It also helps to have that video in your back pocket when meeting with sellers about potentially listing their property.
